Motivating Young Minds to Succeed!

The Educare Institute is a non-profit organization, motivating and encouraging children to reach their full potential and succeed in life.

Why the name Educare?  According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "education" is derived from its Latin root, "educare".  Educare means "to rear or to bring up".  Educare itself can be traced to the latin root words, "e" and "ducere".  Together, "e-ducere" means to "pull out" or "to lead forth".  Hence we use the word "educare" to communicate the teaching method through which children and adults are encouraged to "think" and "draw out" information from within.  Our inspiration for using the term "educare" for our programs came from a discourse of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, in which he explains the meaning of true education.  (Ref: http://www.sssbpt.info/ssspeaks/volume34/sss34-20.pdf)

The word ‘education’ is derived from the Latin root ‘educare’. While education refers to collection of worldly facts, educare is to bring out from within. Education is for a living while educare is for life. ~ Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Our character education program, Character is Power!® (CHIP) teaches widely accepted values that build good character, such as honesty and respect.

Our CHIPClub, an after school mentoring program pairs the students with other successful high school and college students and working adults.

Our Goals Work!Shop helps youth and adults to set and achieve goals.

Our Youth Leadership program is comprised of: SelfCare; SocioCare; and EarthCare.  In these programs the youth discover their strengths and weaknesses; learn how to give back to their communities through service work; and are empowered to find waste reducing alternative ways of living on our planet, allowing a sustainable and healthy environment.

We use the "educare" method of teaching in all our programs. We believe that all children have their character traits and leadership qualities within them.  It is our job to provide the learning environment to draw out these hidden characteristics. We support them in nurturing the positive traits that emerge while guiding them through replacing those that are troublesome.

In time, children may forget what we teach; however, they will remember for life, the things they learn. ~ Mahendran Naidu
